Within the Triple-A project, 3 different groups of Ghent University are involved: Building Physics, Center for Persuasive Communication (CEPEC) and Power-Link.  

Power-Link, the energy knowledge platform of Ghent University:

  • Bundles, disseminates and supports fundamental and applied, innovative and creative research in the field of sustainable and renewable energy.
  • As a network partner, Power-Link links the corporate and the research world and stimulates the innovation and implementation of new energy technologies. 
  • Based in the GreenBridge incubator in Ostend, Power-Link promotes energy in the broad sense, with a focus on saving energy, improving energy performance and increasing energy efficiency.
  • Power-Link offers administrative and communicative support for scientific research projects, leads demonstration and educational projects and exploits research infrastructure.

The Center for Persuasive Communication is one of the four research units of the Department of Communication Sciences of Ghent University.  Founded in 2012 it unites all the expertise within the field Communication Management of the department of Communication Sciences.
The fields of expertise embrace:

  • Digital and influencer marketing
  • Children and Consumer Socialization
  • Media Multitasking and advertising effectiveness
  • Sustainability and green consumer behaviour 
  • Health Communication
  • Risk and crisis communication in a social media context
  • Luxury marketing
  • consumer well-being
    Through all these fields of expertise new, digital media is intertwined.

Research in the Building Physics, Construction and Services domain:

  • Contributes to the development of knowledge about sustainable, durable and energy-efficient buildings with a healthy and comfortable indoor climate.
  • Heat and moisture transfer in buildings and building components is tested, studied and modelled.
  • In the Test Centre for Façade Components the air- and water tightness, mechanical performance and hygrothermal behaviour of building components are investigated both for initial conditions as well as after artificial ageing.
  • Furthermore, the performance of buildings and building services is analysed and optimised using simulations and measurements.
  • The research settings include fundamental research projects as well as development and consultancy projects for private companies and authorities, in which the acquired knowledge and methods are applied and valorised.​

Role of Ghent University in the Triple-A project

  • Building Physics will develop a cost and energy saving estimation method for the most common low-carbon technologies for space heating, using precalculated energy use figures of larger variations of building properties, user profiles and housing typologies present in the localities.
  • CEPEC will bring in their expertise on persuasive marketing and communication, since these topics recur throughout all the different work packages.
  • Power-Link will be responsible for the communication and dissemination of the project results.
